About the 2015 Rome Seminar, "Philology Among the Disciplines": June 14 to 27, 2015 at the University of Notre Dame's Rome Global Gateway
Junior faculty and advanced graduate students from any discipline, especially anthropology, archaeology, art history, classics, history, law, literature, philosophy, and theology, are eligible. Applicants with an interest in philological methods and their application to topics related to Rome and Italy are especially encouraged to apply. Seminars and lectures will be in English; no Italian language background is necessary. Click here for more information.
Noted international scholars from diverse disciplines will discuss the role and relevance of philology in its relations to archaeology, anthropology, history, art history, classics, law, philosophy, and theology.
The 2015 Rome Seminar will be held in the University of Notre Dame’s Rome Global Gateway, on Via Ostilia in Rome’s beautiful San Giovanni neighborhood, a short walk from the Basilica of Saint John Lateran and just a few blocks from the Colosseum.
The Italian Studies at Notre Dame Program sponsors this annual Rome Seminar to bring together scholars from around the globe to reflect, discuss, and train on a topic related to Italian studies. This year's seminar, "Philology Among the Disciplines," is offered by Notre Dame professors W. Martin Bloomer, Carsten Dutt, and Brad S. Gregory and co-sponsored by Italian Studies at Notre Dame, the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study, and the Office of the Vice President for Research"
