Meta-Science
Meta-Science: Scientific Research regarding the Scientific Process
Science thrives on constantly questioning itself critically, developing further and improving. This requires meta-science – research about research. We particularly focus on the behavioral, social and cognitive sciences (e.g., psychology). Prompted by studies questioning the extent to which previous empirical findings are actually reliable, researchers have started intense discussions. In our research, we ask: What constitutes good science? What means replicability? What reasons are there to explain a lack of replicability? Our goal is to analyze the scientific process in detail and to be able to improve it effectively and sustainably.
